Prepare Redact's Next.js and Vinext launch - #1422
Redact's landing page now shows React-to-Redact bundle reductions for TanStack Start, Vite, Vinext, and Next.js, with four charts on one shared scale and working setup tabs for each framework. Small framework icons, rounded-up KB labels beside each bar, and a one-line source note keep the chart details compact. Exact byte totals remain available on hover and to screen readers.
The chart measurements use the same single-route counter, controlled input, and CSS, the same React version, and the exact release-candidate tarball. They count every emitted client JS and CSS file, compressed separately with gzip. Start saves 47.0 KB (43.0%), Vite 48.1 KB (70.5%), Vinext 39.3 KB (28.5%), and Next.js 35.7 KB (20.4%). These are starter apps, not universal percentages. The PR includes the fixture generator, pinned dependency lockfile, per-file hashes and sizes, and browser/server verification records.
The Start setup bundles server dependencies through Vite so their React imports use the same renderer as application code. Both measured Start variants use that configuration. The shared landing columns can shrink with the available content width, fixing clipping beside the desktop sidebar.
The draft article retains the separate six-round Vinext benchmark: 39.4 KB less output (25.4%), including lazy routes. Build times were effectively equal; local startup was 2.2% faster for App Router and 4.9% faster for the large Pages fixture. Browser rendering speed was not measured.
Validation: all eight measured production builds passed client startup, counter, input, and renderer checks. All six SSR variants returned the app in their initial HTML. Reviewed charts at 320px, 390px, and 1280px, including light and dark themes, the Start setup, and the shared Query landing layout. pnpm test passed: types, lint with zero errors, 604 unit tests, 2,270 chat tests, and 20 desktop tests. Five existing skips and 104 existing lint warnings remain.
The release candidate's 2,694 Next.js, 1,410 local Vinext, and 282 hosted scenarios pass, with both original runtime size limits intact and a clean consumer audit. Required platform corrections ship with Redact, so no upstream release is needed.
Keep the article draft and unpublished-release notice until @tanstack/redact 0.2.0 is available and its published integrations are verified. The launch checklist records the publication order and evidence. Release PR: TanStack/redact#52
Merging this PR will not cause a version bump for any packages. If these changes should not result in a new version, you're good to go. If these changes should result in a version bump, you need to add a changeset.
