The MCP server instructions and postinstall banner said the keyless endpoint allows 50 requests/day. It now allows 5 (api RATE_LIMIT), and the free API key moves to 20/day (AWS development usage plan).

Changes

  • packages/mcp/src/index.js: server instructions agents read
  • packages/mcp/scripts/postinstall.js: install banner (rendered, still fits the box)
  • packages/mcp/README.md

Testing

pnpm test in packages/mcp: 132 pass, 0 fail.

Note

Low Risk
Copy-only changes to README, postinstall banner, and MCP instructions; no runtime or API behavior changes.

Overview
Updates documented free-tier rate limits across the MCP package so they match current API behavior: 5 requests/day on the keyless endpoint and 20 requests/day with a free API key (replacing the outdated 50/day wording).

The same messaging is applied in three places: server instructions agents read at startup (DEFAULT_INSTRUCTIONS in index.js), the postinstall console banner, and the README install note.

    • Installation and setup guidance now reflect these daily limits.

The keyless endpoint allows 5 requests per day and a free API key 20.
The instructions and postinstall banner still said 50.
