Commands such as corepack cache clean provide no feedback about their work. Add --verbose to Corepack utility commands and support corepack --verbose <command> for package-manager invocations. The flag enables Corepack diagnostics on stderr while preserving ordinary stdout and package-manager arguments and exit codes.

Cache cleaning reports its target directory, completion, or that the cache is already absent. Existing DEBUG=corepack behavior remains supported, and verbose logging is scoped to the command execution. The README and command help document the option.

Validation on Node.js 24.20.0:

  • Bundle and shims built successfully.
  • Full Vitest suite in replay mode with retries disabled: 9 files passed; 184 tests passed and 1 existing expected failure (185 total).
  • Repository-wide ESLint with --max-warnings=0, TypeScript, and git diff --check passed.
  • Thirteen new CLI regressions cover both flag positions for utility commands, cache diagnostics, quiet defaults, DEBUG compatibility, global help/version, argument and exit-code forwarding through an isolated cached executable, utility failures, and unchanged pack --json output.

The local runner isolates inherited proxy settings from CLI fixtures while retaining proxy access for the live npm-key check. Compilation caches are disabled to accommodate the small temporary filesystem. No tests were skipped for these environment adjustments.

Closes #679.

Implementation and automated validation were performed by Codex.
