This change adds touch-based structure placement with tile-anchored previews and queued build validation. It adds radial-menu click forwarding and guards against stale asynchronous menu results. The unit display is available at all screen sizes and uses a responsive, horizontally scrollable layout.
Touch input emits ghost-placement events. A handled touch drag moves the preview after reaching the drag threshold. Pointer release and cancellation have separate placement behavior.
Confirmations capture tile and ghost state, then use serialized buildability queries before building. Tests cover queued confirmations, invalid placements, and stale results.
Overlay clicks forward only when they target a marked element below the overlay. Attack-ratio sliders map forwarded click positions to values.
Stale menu result guard src/client/hud/layers/MainRadialMenu.ts, tests/client/MainRadialMenu.test.ts
MainRadialMenu ignores action results when the request token changes before an asynchronous response completes.

Show unit price and description before selection on small screens.
Below the lg breakpoint, this PR makes the unit toolbar visible. Each unit button selects its unit on tap. The button shows only the icon, an lg-only hotkey, and the owned count. The cost and description appear only in the hover tooltip, and that tooltip is hidden lg:block, so it stays hidden below lg. Touch users on small screens therefore cannot see a unit's cost or description before they select it. The radial menu does not supply this information on touch, because its price tooltips appear only on hover.
Show the cost and description before selection on small screens, for example in the button itself.

Assert that no ordinary TouchEvent fires during ghost placement.
The tap test listens only for TouchGhostPlacementEvent. It asserts the placement list and an empty move list, but no assertion covers TouchEvent. The test file does not reference TouchEvent anywhere. If a regression also emits TouchEvent during a ghost tap, the test still passes. Ordinary TouchEvent subscribers can then act on the tap, for example by opening a context menu or showing a player or unit panel. Add a TouchEvent listener to the test and assert that it receives nothing.

Add a TouchEvent listener to the ghost-placement tap test alongside its
TouchGhostPlacementEvent listener, then assert that the collected ordinary touch

Add a snapped-placement confirmation test for the pointer path.
With snapBuildPreview on, resolveGhostPlacement moves the preview to u.canBuild. Pointer and keyboard confirmation (ConfirmGhostStructureEvent with touch mode off) sends a MouseUpEvent at the pointer position. That path queries the pointer tile, and createStructure emits BuildUnitIntentEvent for that same tile. No snap-enabled test asserts the emitted intent tile. A future change that builds on the displayed tile would not fail the current suite.
Add a test that enables snapping, uses a canBuild tile that differs from the pointer tile, and asserts that BuildUnitIntentEvent.tile equals the pointer tile.
Touch confirmation behaves differently. touchPreviewScreenPosition returns the snapped cell center, so touch confirmation re-queries the snapped tile. A touch-path test with snapping should assert that snapped tile, not the original touch query tile.

Add a button-fit check to the mobile quick-build layout test.
The layout test named keeps the quick-build items in one horizontally scrollable row checks only class names and the child count of .grid. A grid whose ten cells overlap at 361–400px would pass every assertion. The test does not measure button bounds or widths. This is a coverage gap, not a currently failing check. Where the environment allows it, add a browser-level layout check, or a width assertion on the rendered buttons, at a viewport just above 360px.

src/client/hud/layers/UnitDisplay.ts:274-282 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | 💤 Low value
Refresh the tooltip position while it is shown; a resize with a still pointer leaves it off-center.
On desktop, the unit grid is centered in its row. A viewport resize shifts each item horizontally by about half the width change. The tooltip keeps the coordinates captured at mouseenter, so it stays at the old position. The pointer must stay over the same item, so no new mouseenter fires and the position does not update until the pointer leaves and re-enters the item.

Refresh the tooltip position from the hovered item’s current bounds when
rendering, rather than retaining coordinates captured on mouseenter. Update the
hover state and `renderUnitTooltip` to retain the item element, find its
`.unit-display-root`, and calculate the tooltip’s left and top positions from
the latest bounds so resizing repositions it without requiring a new mouseenter.
Assert the narrow-screen grid override in the layout test.
The layout test checks the narrow-screen flow and column width classes, but not max-[360px]:grid-cols-none. Removing that class from src/client/hud/layers/UnitDisplay.ts would not fail this test. The class string is static, so a disabled-unit fixture is not needed to cover it. Add the assertion to the existing layout test.

Update the existing layout test to assert that the grid element has the
max-[360px]:grid-cols-none class, alongside its existing narrow-screen class

Add position assertions to the desktop tooltip test.
The test at tests/client/UnitDisplay.test.ts:55-71 checks only that a tooltip exists and sits outside .unit-display-scroll. It does not check the tooltip's left or top values. A regression in tooltip placement would still pass this test.
The hover handler sets the tooltip position from bounding rectangles. It computes left from the item's center minus the root's left edge, and top from the item's top minus the root's top minus 4px. Without mocked rectangles, jsdom returns zeros for both elements. Then a regression that drops the root offset would still produce the same values.
Mock getBoundingClientRect on the hovered item and on its .unit-display-root ancestor, using nonzero values. Then assert that tooltip.style.left and tooltip.style.top equal the values the formula produces from those rectangles.

Also address a possible edge case when myPlayer.actions in MainRadialMenu is slow to load, player taps eg. build button > CloseViewEvent has just made RadialMenu hide itself, build preview is expected > but after myPlayer.actions updatePlayerActions is called > calls showRadialMenu > Radial Menu re-appears instead of the build preview.
Emit the final placement move when a candidate drag releases past the threshold.
A touch that starts on the preview enters candidate. If its last pointermove stays under DRAG_THRESHOLD_PX but pointerup lands beyond it, no move is emitted and the preview stays on its old tile. The active path emits this final move, so candidate should use the same rule.

Assert the forwarded-click marker in the forwarding test.
The test at lines 55-57 checks only the click count and the coordinates. Removing the FORWARDED_CLICK marker from forwardClickToLayerBelow still passes it. `.hidden.lg\\:block input[type="range"]` rather than the first range input, and
assert that a forwarded tap updates the value. Keep the existing mobile-slider
coverage intact so the test verifies the desktop `@click` behavior
independently.
Review comments at @tests/client/MainRadialMenu.test.ts:
- Around line 60-70: Add a positive control case alongside the existing
close-event test in the MainRadialMenu test suite: resolve player actions after
emitting ContextMenuEvent(100, 100), without emitting CloseViewEvent, and assert
that showRadialMenu is called with (100, 100).
Review comments at @tests/client/RadialMenu.test.ts:
- Around line 53-57: Update the forwarding test for `forwardClickToLayerBelow`
to also assert that the forwarded click is recognized by `isForwardedClick`.
Import that helper from `InputHandler` and check the captured click, preserving
the existing count and coordinate assertions.
Review comments at @tests/InputHandler.test.ts:
- Around line 1889-1895: Add a test alongside the placement tests that activates
a ghost structure, presses with two touch pointers, and releases them; assert
that no placement occurs and no TouchGhostPlacementEvent is emitted. Use the
existing test helpers and event-observation pattern, while preserving the
current single-pointer placement coverage.

…ntented when attack % slider or build button is tapped/clicked as when the radial menu does not 'overlap' with the control panel.
Add edge fade to the build bar on very narrow screens, as a cue to show there's more to swipe to. Still no scrollbar.
Instead of a counter, use a per-request token in MainRadialMenu to see what menu request a pending action belongs to.
Tests added and improved.
Dispatch the menu-item click on a real rendered path.
The test attaches stopPropagation() to its synthetic path, so it does not exercise the real RadialMenu item handler. Removing the production guard would not change the test result. Use a rendered menu item to protect this propagation behavior.

Update the RadialMenu test to dispatch the click on an actual rendered menu-item
path instead of the synthetic item with its own stopPropagation listener, so the
test exercises the production item handler’s propagation behavior.

Add long press to show tooltip above build button on touchscreen; it until now only showed on hover with mouse. Shows as long as you press, and as failsafe removes after touch cancel when no touch end arrives. Corrected tooltip z-index so it is displayed on top of events (which are shown above control panel on mobile portrait mode). Tooltip is shown within viewport for smaller screens.

…nly until long press ends.
Address claude and rabbit feedback. Eg, with disabled units, keep old behaviour of centering the build buttons. Unbuildable touch taps now clear the active structure highlight. Touch build selections signal placement mode through InputHandler.ts and BuildPreviewController.ts, preventing the initial ghost from "appearing" at screen (0,0). Updated UnitDisplay.test.ts?s mock config with gameConfig() so CI should no longer fail (tests already ran ok locally).

…ect highlighting when using hotkey. Don't clear existing highlight when selected ghost stays active when tapping on another, unafforable, building.
