Restore a left-aligned graphics tuning panel - #6248
Restore advanced graphics tuning with the existing controls in two contexts:
Inside a game: the menu's Graphics entry opens a narrow, left-aligned panel. It uses the HUD's slate surface, compact rows, and background opacity preference, keeping the map visible. A shared HUD opacity control applies the same stored setting and live CSS value from either settings entry point; text and controls remain readable.
Main menu:Settings > Graphics > Advanced settings expands the controls within the existing page, using its normal settings layout and theme.
The panel reuses graphics overrides, presets, import/export, reset behavior, and map-layer wiring. Preserve the pause/return flow and block replay playback shortcuts while it is open.
Inline pages never create a child graphics modal or unregister their own Escape handler. Navigation therefore closes the settings page normally instead of leaving a hidden panel and scroll lock. This addresses the CodeRabbit finding, with a regression test through the real showPage navigation flow.
Translation synchronization/sorting and focused graphics tests: 53 tests passed.
npm run typecheck, npm run lint, formatting checks, and npm run build-prod: passed.
Preset save/import/dropdown tests target the open panel, rather than the hidden settings-page controls.
Browser checks at 1440×900 and 390×844: in-place main-menu expansion, navigation cleanup, actual left alignment and a transparent backdrop, live opacity at 100% / 35% / 0%, persistent settings, readable controls, no horizontal overflow, and return to the game menu.
The local test browser blocked unavailable external services and disabled the existing incompatible Keyboard Layout API; those accommodations were confined to the test browser.

The PR adds a graphics side panel for advanced controls and preset tools. It adds access from the graphics settings page and in-game menu. Replay settings checks now include whether the graphics panel is open.
Modal configuration supports side-panel layout. The modal keeps its centered layout by default and uses a left-aligned, full-height layout when side-panel mode is enabled.
The graphics panel renders opacity, advanced controls, and preset tools while open. It manages return callbacks and closes silently when its owner closes. Valid HUD opacity changes update the saved setting and CSS property.
In-game menu and replay integration src/client/hud/layers/SettingsModal.ts, src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts, tests/client/InGameSettingsMenu.test.ts, tests/client/replay/ReplayViewerErrors.test.ts
The in-game menu opens the graphics panel and restores menu navigation on return. Replay playback shortcuts are ignored while the panel is open.

Verdict: Changes requested. Two en.json problems will fail CI tests. Findings: 2 high, 0 medium, 0 low.
resources/lang/en.json
High: the new key is out of order, so tests/EnJsonSorted.test.ts fails (resources/lang/en.json:1055) "open_panel" was added as the first key of graphics_setting, ahead of "advanced_desc". The test requires keys sorted alphabetically at every level, so it fails with en.json.graphics_setting: "advanced_desc" should come before "open_panel". Fix: move open_panel to its alphabetical position within graphics_setting, or run jq -S . resources/lang/en.json and then npm run format.
High: graphics_setting.advanced_label and graphics_setting.advanced_desc are now unused, so tests/TranslationSystem.test.ts fails (resources/lang/en.json:1056-1057)
This PR deletes the Advanced setting-toggle from src/client/UserSettingModal.ts, and that toggle was the only place these two keys were used. Neither key matches an IGNORED_UNUSED_KEY_PATTERNS entry or a dynamic prefix. The test "en.json keys stay in sync with source usage" (tests/TranslationSystem.test.ts:570) therefore reports both keys at expect(unusedKeys).toEqual([]). Fix: delete both keys from en.json. Leave the other language files alone; Crowdin manages them.
I found no behavior bugs in the panel logic. I checked these paths:
the three branches of openGraphicsPanel: inline page, open non-inline modal, and direct from the in-game menu
Escape re-registration, OModal.openCount and pause bookkeeping
CSS selectors reaching the light-DOM setting-slider
The initial review could not complete. The translation CI findings are fixed in 46ab1eb; translation synchronization/sorting and the focused graphics-panel tests now pass (50 tests).
Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance. The button in src/client/UserSettingModal.ts now uses the existing graphics_setting.advanced_label / advanced_desc strings via translateText(). The graphics_setting.open_panel key it replaces is removed from en.json, and nothing in the PR diff still references it.
Assert the side-panel layout classes in the graphics panel test.
The test opts into the left-aligned shell checks only shell.sidePanel. It does not check the backdrop or wrapper classes that create the left-aligned layout in Modal.ts. A change that removes justify-start or restores bg-black/60 would still pass this test. Add assertions on the rendered backdrop and wrapper class names.

Update the graphics panel test named “opts into the left-aligned shell” to
assert the rendered backdrop and wrapper class names that establish the
side-panel layout, including left alignment and the absence of the standard
dimmed backdrop styling. Keep the existing shell.sidePanel assertion.
Scope the preset-tool queries to the graphics panel.
After the panel opens, el.querySelector("#graphics-save-preset") returns the owner's Graphics-tab copy, not the panel's. The save test then passes even if the panel's preset tools are broken. Query inside graphics-settings-modal instead, and wait for the panel to render first.

Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance. I checked these paths:
Inline openGraphicsPanel: it now only toggles graphicsAdvancedOpen, and onClose resets it.
Inline pages: they no longer mount graphics-settings-modal, so there is no nested scroll lock or Escape handoff.
In-game entry: the menu still reaches the non-inline instance through #game-settings.
Shared hudOpacitySetting helper: it writes the same UserSettings preference and --hud-opacity value from both entry points. No code looks up #hud-opacity-slider by id.
.graphics-panel-surface: this class lives in global styles.css but is used inside the o-modal shadow root. It still applies, because OModal adopts the document stylesheet (static styles = [documentStylesSheet()]).
Text: all user-visible strings still go through translateText() with existing keys.
The only change in this range is to tests/client/UserSettingModal.graphics.test.ts. The preset save, import and dropdown tests now target controls inside the open graphics-settings-modal panel, through the new graphicsPanel() helper, which asserts that the panel is open. The import test is parameterised to cover both the closed and open panel. A closed panel renders nothing (shouldRender = isModalOpen || inline), so scoping the query to the page when advanced: false finds the page-level controls without ambiguity.
Assert the open panel's name-scale slider after an import.
The open-panel case checks only the stored overrides. Add a check that #name-scale-slider shows the imported value. Run it only when advanced is true, and wait for the child panel to update first, because the slider is rendered by graphics-advanced-settings.

Review comment at @tests/client/UserSettingModal.graphics.test.ts at line 389:
In the open-panel import test, extend the existing assertion around
`overrides()` to also verify that `#name-scale-slider` displays the imported
value. Run this UI assertion only when `advanced` is true, and wait for the
`graphics-advanced-settings` child panel to update before checking it.
